Urban Farming + Fine Gardening

Through my work at community-focused farms such as North Brooklyn Farms and the Veterans Healing Farm, I learned not only successful organic growing practices, but also how agricultural projects can function as hybrid models—operating semi-privately while remaining publicly engaged through community programming, education, and open access. These experiences shaped my understanding of farms as civic and cultural infrastructure, not solely productive landscapes.

My horticultural studies also include a Certificate in Herbalism from the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, where intensive study of botany, field identification formed the core of the curriculum. I further studied Planting Design at the London College of Garden Design and have worked professionally for fine gardening companies in Asheville, North Carolina, and Akron, Ohio.
